The Power of a Power Nap!

A surprising idea that will help you pass your exam - have the occasional power nap!

What is it? Well a power nap is a very short and light doze, no longer than 30 minutes. During this time, find a dark room and comfortable place to relax and lie down in, but not a place to snooze. Not sleeping is important because getting up after a few hours of napping just makes you feel sluggish and unproductive, so remember set a timer at the end of the nap to avoid this!

What are the benefits? Interestingly, studies show you react to a power nap like you do a sleep. **Do not replace your sleeps with power naps** But just as a good sleep keeps your mind and body refreshed, keep you concentrated and in a better mood, as do short rests. Also, importantly, a power nap will improve your cognitive function, and therefore your short and long term memory will be given a boost!

When to power nap? Aim to have one after your morning revision, after a good 3 or 4 hours of work time. The reason why because you it will help you absorb all you have learnt in the early hours and prepare your mind going into the afternoon. If you are revising around your job, when you get home from work I recommend a quick nap, that will go a long way in energizing you for the studying to come!

It may seem like a strange suggestion, but try it! You are likely to find it will help stop revision fatigue and help you ability to memorize your work!
